The cartoons of W.C.Pope who got his start in cartoons back in the 1980’s with cartoons published in Starlog and Fangora magazines. In 1991 W.C. became the first and only official cartoonist of the Air Force Reserve with his “Pope’s Puns” cartoon and still is publihsed today in Citizen Airman the Magazine of the Air Force Reserve. For many years he did cartoons for the Air Mobility Command’s Mobility Forum and cartooned a story series titled “C.R. Terror” which had its start during the Korean War. In the 80’s W.C. became a small comix publisher with his mini-comic and digest format comic books and inked, lettered and colored several comics for a now defunct comic company. In the late 90’s he created a strip called “PopTarts” that was published in Songwriter’s Monthly for several years.  He also created many cartoons for the Marine Corps Leatherneck magazine.
